The Wz. 29 armored car was a Polish heavy reconnaissance vehicle designed in the late 1920s to support cavalry and infantry units. Built on a modified truck chassis, it featured a distinctive angular armored body and a fully rotating turret armed with a 37mm Puteaux SA 18 gun and two 7.92mm machine guns, giving it a solid mix of firepower for scouting and combat roles. Despite its relatively slow top speed of around 35 km/h, the Wz. 29’s off-road capability and rugged construction made it effective on Poland’s varied terrain. Used during the 1939 invasion of Poland, it engaged German forces in reconnaissance and delaying actions, showcasing Poland’s early attempts at modern armored warfare.
