The Matford F917 was a French military truck produced in the late 1930s, designed for troop and cargo transport. Built through the collaboration between Ford’s French subsidiary and Mathis, it featured a rugged 4×2 chassis and a reliable V8 engine, giving it a top speed of around 70 km/h. Its sturdy construction allowed it to handle both paved roads and rough terrain, making it a versatile logistics vehicle. With a spacious cargo bed, it could carry soldiers, supplies, or be adapted for specialized roles such as medical evacuation. Used extensively by the French Army during the early stages of World War II, many F917s were later captured and repurposed by German forces after the fall of France.
