The Flakpanzer 38(t) was a German self-propelled anti-aircraft vehicle based on the reliable chassis of the Czech Panzer 38(t) light tank. Armed with a fast-firing 20mm Flak 38 cannon, it was designed to provide mobile air defense for armored divisions, protecting against low-flying aircraft and infantry. The open-top turret allowed a full 360-degree range of motion, ideal for tracking fast-moving aerial targets. Though lightly armored, the Flakpanzer 38(t) could reach speeds of up to 42 km/h, making it nimble enough to keep pace with advancing Panzer units. Its versatility and speed made it a valuable asset, especially on the Eastern Front, where Allied air superiority became a significant threat.
