The AMC Schneider P16 was a French half-track armored car designed for reconnaissance and cavalry support in the 1930s. Combining the mobility of wheeled vehicles with the off-road capability of tracked systems, it featured a unique design with front wheels for steering and rear tracks for enhanced traction. Armed with a 37mm Puteaux SA 18 gun and a 7.5mm machine gun, the P16 provided effective firepower for scouting and skirmishing roles. Its armor offered protection against small arms fire while maintaining a relatively high speed of up to 40 km/h. Used by French cavalry units during the early stages of World War II, the P16 saw action against German forces but was soon outmatched by more modern enemy armor.
